Shellshocked

Well after a lovely long weekend off I went back to work this morning and was only there for half an hour before being called to a meeting with my senior partner and the HR Manager.
I've been given my notice of redundancy and finish work officially on the 23rd December....
Although it isn't unexpected I'm in shock right now and can't quite believe it. I have had a few tears when speaking to DH and my mum on the phone, although Erin's reaction and happiness that she will see more of mummy did make me feel a little better.
I know we will be able to survive on DH's salary, but it is obviously going to mean big changes to our lives and spending habits from now on, I just hope we can rise to the challenge as a family and maybe even turn a bad situation into a better future for us.

Lisa-
Am so sorry-even when when you are expecting it, it can be such a shock. My thoughts are with you.

Hi Lisa, sorry to hear your bad news. I heard great positivity in your post though and I hope you do manage to turn this around to your advantage. Good luck and ((((big hugs)))

We know the feeling all too well here. Only a few weeks ago Husband walked into work after a short holiday to walk out again 15 minutes later with no job, one weeks pay and no warning at all. We're over the shock now but it isn't nice worrying about losing your home in a few months time if things don't work out.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know it must be hard, even though you were sort of expecting it. Good luck to you!

I am so sorry Lisa. Even though you were sort of expecting it it is still a shock. I am sure you can make good of it though and it will be OK. {{{{hugs}}}}

The good news is, you're not alone. The bad news is, you're not alone. Things are tough everywhere, and I am so sorry you're taking a hit as well, especially right before the holidays. Here's hoping what seems like a terrible thing turns into a blessing in disguise. Good luck!

We never really expect the expected if its bad news do we.

I hope this will work out for you and judging by your daughters reaction it is maybe not a bad thing. Remember if you look back at your child hood its what you do with your parents that is remembered not what they bought you.
